Since some vaccination programs can be spread out over several weeks, it’s important to make an appointment as soon as you decide to take a trip.

- The sanitary conditions of your destination
Preventive advice
Appropriate medical advice, vaccination and medication prescriptions protect you from many potentially serious problems while you are abroad. By knowing how some diseases are transmitted, you maximize your chances of staying healthy.
Precautions should be taken for the following items, among others:
- Water and food
- Insects
- Serious diseases such as malaria, yellow fever, dengue and Japanese encephalitis are transmitted by infected mosquitos
- Sun
- Accidents (trauma)
- Altitude
- Swimming
- Risk of thrombophlebitis
- Person-to-person contamination
- Coughing and sneezing may transmit influenza, meningitis, tuberculosis or diphtheria
- Needles and syringes, contaminated blood or unprotected sexual relations may transmit
hepatitis B or AIDS
